An introduction to the NGA HR Academy

The NGA HR Academy started with its first intake in May 2016. The development and skills required of our ResourceLink Consultants is a very specialist area, so recruitment in this area has always been a challenge.

The Academy was developed to fulfil our needs to enable us to "grow our own" technically qualified and knowledgeable consultants. Quite simply to grow our specialised consultancy services team in order to meet the deliverables to a growing client base and to offer a first class service to our clients.

As an Academy we also strive to make NGA HR a great place to work. We worked closely with our recruitment colleagues to organise a rigorous assessment day. This was very focused on our business needs but also a lot of fun and included psychometric group activities, personal presentations and interviews. Alongside this we have developed a structured training schedule and clear progression plan which has attracted some of the brightest and most talented graduates and trainees into our business. 

The team are working towards structured levels of progression and a fulfilling career with NGA HR. This includes incentives and recognition as they progress. 

Our recruitment team continue to develop relationships direct with Universities ensuring NGA HR is a forerunner in attracting the best candidates for our industry. We have just started our latest intake (now number 4). They are a lively, approachable and proactive team with all the qualities we expect in order to represent NGA HR at consultancy level. We are working to get their product knowledge up to speed so they can become client facing application consultants within 18 months. 

From the start of the Academy we have had 6 members who have been promoted to the next level with several more pending assessment within the next 3 months. As a team we are regularly delivering client work so it is important the Academy members are up to speed within 18 months. I'm very proud of what the team have achieved and what a pleasure it has been to see the these talented people grow professionally!
